super space gadgets

Great Scott! (Could I really open this any other way?) Doc Brown's tinkering can now be a part of your own car or home office decor with Diamond Select Toy's Back to the Future prop replica of the iconic time machine actuator. Created to spec from the original featured in the film, it has LED's inside and directions created from old-school punch labels outside. The Unlimited Edition Flux Capacitor is available on December 16th of this year for about $220

Fans of H.R. Giger's acid-blood-fueled space nightmare will adore this miniature USB alien that plugs into your computer or laptop of choice. It's got fantastic detailing from its shiny cylindrical cranium to its bony claws, but the real fun starts when it gets warmed up and randomly shoots its inner mandible out like its full-sized cousins. Its mouth also lights up an angry red — nice touch, no? The Aliens USB will be available in mid-December and costs 3,990 yen (about $45).

There comes a time when every Star Wars obsessed fan has to put up or shut up. It's just not enough to have custom curio cabinets stuffed with oodles of high-end collectibles or to own complete action figure sets all the way back to the Keener days (NRFB, of course). Not when you can actually become a Jedi. Wannabe Padawans can put on a wireless headset that allows them to focus their brainwaves at a tube with a Jedi-approved ball inside, which will actually rise and fall based on the trainee's sheer will. Wookie's honor, we kid you not. This contraption will read your brainwaves and provide 15 Jedi training exercises to prove your Midi-chlorine worth. The Force Trainer retails for a buck shy of $100.

Cool new gadget everyone! Named the Blue Space, this water vehicle was developed by scientists from St. Peters burg. It seats two people and to make it move you have to pedal, just like a water bike! Above the water this water bike slash dive boat can reach speeds up to 2 to 5 knots or 4-10 km/hr., underwater about 2 to 3 knots or 4-5 km/hr. The Blue Space can stay underwater for a maximum of 4 hours and can reach a maximum depth of 30 meters. It is well equipped with all sorts of sensors and electronics to guarantee the safety of the passengers including a GPS system and a depth sensor.

SPACE GADGETS

Space, the final frontier. These are the features of the Laserpod Supernova - to boldly glow where no Laserpod has glowed before, to seek out new lighting effects, to transform your ceiling into a laser studded sky of infinite depth and variation. We may be stretching the analogy a bit now, so let's move on. This total re-design, re-fit and re-vamp of the Laserpod into its current incarnation as the aptly named Supernova is quite simply stunning. Looking not a little unlike the piston head from some kind of sexy super-car, it hides a brilliant (quite literally) lighting display system. A cluster of powerful LEDs and a laser are embedded in the aluminium body of the light, and shine up through a revolving multi-faced crystal that splits and fractures the light sources into a galaxy of ever changing effects. Great sweeps of stars (including shooting ones) unfold across your ceiling, interspersed with clustered novas, and probably a quark or two. The Supernova comes with three filters to change the style and impact of the display from crisp stars and space clouds, to ever transforming fractal light show, to gentle undulation colour shifts, and you can place any glass item over the top lens to add even more lighting effects. Each element creates different but equally mesmerising lighting effects that are both mellow and yet decidedly funky. The Laserpod Supernova is set to be the 21st Century answer to the lava lamp, only stratospherically cooler. Features
A super slick aluminium projector unit.
Red and green lasers project a galaxy of starbursts and shooting stars onto your ceiling.
The classic red and blue LEDs synonymous with the Laserpod create gaseous blue clouds to add to the scene.
Pure crystal refracts the LEDs to project different laser effects.
A holographic lens is included to adjust the lighting effects.
Suitable for ages 12 years+.
Requires a mains adaptor (UK adaptor included).
Size: 17 x 8 x 8cm.
WEB CAM
Why have a boring old techy looking webcam when you can have R2D2 at your disposal? This daft droid is not only a remote control wireless webcam, but will also play your web based audio, has a digital camera, can be used as an internet phone, has voice record, wirelessly transmits images, and has possibly the coolest remote control unit in existence. What looks exactly like the hilt of a Lightsaber is your ticket to control. Bristling with buttons and glowing red when on (and blue when using it as a phone), this wireless remote gives you access to all of R2D2's functions, and even has Lightsaber sound effects. Whether you're using this top piece of kit as an internet phone, a digital camera, a movie camera (great for trundling around the office filming what's going on out of sight) or as a remote control security droid, the R2D2 Wireless Webcam is the most vital piece of equipment for every Jedi warrior.
Features
* R2D2 is both a wireless webcam with adjustable angles and a motorised 'bot travelling forward, backwards and he even rotates as controlled by the remote.
* R2D2's remote is styled like Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber and when you rotate the handle a control pad is revealed so that the lightsaber doubles as a Skype phone.
* The lightsaber has light and sound effects from the films.
* The lightsaber's stand connects to your PC's USB port allowing R2D2 to becontrolled wirelessly.
* The webcam is pre-loaded with R2D2 sound effects.
* The webcam has a zoom in/out capability and a CMOS Sensor of 628 x 582 pixels.
* The webcam works in both audio and video real time.
* All software is provided and even enables R2D2 to be controlled from a second PC.
* Suitable for ages 16 years+.
* Suitable for Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP.
* Requires 8 x AA Batteries (included), two USB cables, Installation CD, instruction manual.
For $78 dollars, one would hope that this cute little Space Invaders alarm clock — endorsed by Taito itself — is something you can actually play the titular game upon. Otherwise, what's the point? But unfortunately, it doesn't appear as though the Space Invaders alarm clock allows you to play Space Invaders at all! What a disappointment: I envisioned groggy 5am mornings defending Terra from descending pixel squids to turn off the alarm's cochlea-shredding bleeping
